A possible relationship of radio-carpal dislocation and dislocation of the lunate bone.

چکیده
A woman of fifty sustained anterior radio-carpal dislocation of the left wrist. Reduction was obtained by traction under general anaesthesia. Radiographs were taken before and after reduction (Figs. 1 and 2). Reduction of the dislocation was maintained by a plaster extending above the elbow with the wrist in the neutral position. The plaster was kept on for four weeks, after which gentle mobilisation was begun. Six months later there was no radiographic evidence of avascular necrosis and there was an almost full range of movement. The patient was re-examined eighteen months after injury. She complained of some loss of the power of lifting and an occasional ache about the wrist. The range of movement was very slightly less than that of the opposite wrist. Radiographs showed a small osteophyte low on the volar aspect of the radius (Fig. 3) but no other abnormality.

Neglected lunate dislocation presenting as carpal tunnel syndrome
Most of carpal tunnel syndrome cases are idiopathic, and secondary causes are so rare that can be easily missed. We present a patient with neglected undiagnosed lunate dislocation compressing on median nerve causing its signs and symptoms.
متن کاملGreater arc injury of the wrist with fractured lunate bone: a case report.
Carpal dislocation and fracture dislocation are uncommon and difficult to treat. Early diagnosis and treatment of such injuries are necessary to prevent progressive carpal instability and traumatic arthritis. Perilunate fracture dislocation is a combination of ligamentous and osseous injuries that involve the 'greater arc' of the perilunate. Despite being severe, these injuries often go unrecog...
متن کاملIsolated Dorsal Dislocation of the Lunate
Lunate dislocations are well described in the volar direction as part of the perilunate dislocation, sometimes together with fractures of the other carpal bones or distal radius, as described by the anatomical studies of Mayfield [1]. It is a result of disruption of the complex inter-carpal and radiocarpal ligaments that hold the well conforming carpus in their normal position. Given the streng...
متن کاملClassification and management of carpal dislocations.
A classification and plan of management for carpal dislocations are presented, based upon the following basic premises: perilunate and lunate dislocations are different stages of the same injury and are therefore managed identically; displacement may be either dorsal or volar; anatomic restoration of the 3 key elements (scaphoid, lunate, and capitate) is essential. Following initial closed redu...
متن کاملPalmar dislocation of scaphoid and lunate
A palmar dislocation of scaphoid and lunate is uncommon. We have found only 19 reported cases in the literature. We reported a simultaneous, divergent dislocation. The closed reduction followed by percutaneous pinning has given a good result without avascular necrosis of any carpal bone.
